A Plastic Free world!

A Practical Guide to Kicking Your Plastic Addiction!

There is a an old saying,“it’s an ill wind that blows nobody good” and so it was, that Beth Terry came to write about her topic namely making our plastic free. The constant use of plastic food containers in particular is a real bugbear of mine. It has been for a very long time, and now that more definite evidence has come to light it’s of much more concern to me…
especially now that I have young grandchildren, so I’m delighted that Beth has written this book. I sincerely hope that everyone will read it, especially those with young children and anyone who suffers with asthma or any respiratory problems.

Like many people, Beth Terry didn’t think an individual could have much impact on the environment. But while laid up after surgery, she read an article about the staggering amount of plastic polluting the oceans and decided then and there to kick her habit….

Now she wants to teach you how you can too. In her quirky and humorous style-well known to the readers of her popular blog, Terry provides personal anecdotes, stats about the environmental and health problems related to this material, and personal solutions and tips on how to limit your usage.

I feel so strongly about the dangers of plastic and especially heating food in a plastic container in a microwave oven, particularly with our very young. I have emptied a very deep drawer in my kitchen that was full of every kind of plastic container, and I have replaced all with glass, stainless steel and any other safe containers that I come across, I believe that children are intelligent enough to learn how to handle glass with care.

No grandchild of mine will ever eat or drink anything from a plastic container again, nor play with a plastic toy at their grandparents house.

This is an invaluable book for all concerned with the dangers of plastic.
